Botox Review

The official website addresses Botox as a “simple, nonsurgical procedure.” This particular cosmetic enhancement procedure involves “a few tiny injections,” which last around ten minutes. The injections are made into frown lines between the brows. After a few days there is supposed to be a “noticeable improvement” in the wrinkles or lines (they should be smoothed out). Although results are said to vary from patient to patient, Botox injections should last up to four months total. Afterwards another treatment can be administered to assist with frown lines. At this point there are Botox procedures suitable for both women and men. This cosmetic procedure has been approved by the FDA.

Botox is the best example of using muscle paralyzer (butulium toxin A from bacteria) to treat wrinkles. Botulinum Toxin A paralyses the muscle by selectively blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction. BoNT-A cleaves the protein SNAP-25 irreversibly, and therefore the SNARE complex cannot assemble. The nerve signal cannot be relayed, the muscle cannot contract and it is paralysed.

We provide the full botox review in “anti-aging techniques” “dermal filler” category. Botox is the early anti-aging treatment available on the market. It has been used as the benchmark to compare with anti-aging wrinkle creams as the “botox alternative” that does not involve injections. It is because of this reason, we include it in our best “anti-aging creams list”.
