Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive procedure that involves injections into the mesoderm, the middle layer of skin, to stimulate the removal of cellulite, wrinkles, excess fat, and sagging skin. The treatment involves localized injections of homeopathic and traditional medications in addition to vitamins. Each injection offers freedom from more invasive treatments that require anesthesia and surgery and helps the body to heal itself from the inside out.

Remarkable changes in facial appearance can be obtained, giving a younger appearance and improving complexion. Often combinations of different cosmetic procedures are required for the best results.

It is most important to protect the skin from the sun life-long using sunscreens on exposed areas daily, and to avoid smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke or other pollutants.

Moisturisers

Ageing skin feels and looks better when moisturisers are applied regularly. These improve the water-holding capacity of the skin. Choose one that feels nice to apply, doesn’t sting or burn or provoke acne.

  • Use tepid or warm tap water and a non-soap cleanser to wash your face twice daily.
  • If you will be outdoors even briefly, include UV-protection as part of your morning regime.

Facial lines and wrinkles

Ageing skin droops and develops wrinkles, lines and furrows. The severity of these changes in an individual depends on genetic tendency, skin phototype and exposure to environmental factors.

Dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons often use Glogau’s classification when describing these ageing changes.

Mild – Few wrinkles, requires little or no make-up for coverage
Moderate – Early wrinkling, sallow complexion, requires little makeup
Advanced – Persistent wrinkling, skin discolouration with broken blood vessels and solar keratoses, often wears make-up
Severe – Severe wrinkling and furrows, solar keratoses, often wears make-up but it may not hide the ageing changes

Nonablative Facial Skin Tightening

Nonablative Facial Skin Tightening

Author: A John Vartanian, MD

Introduction

Reduction of rhytides and skin laxity can significantly contribute to improving overall facial appearance. Dermabrasion, chemical peels, and resurfacing lasers (eg, carbon dioxide laser, erbium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet [Er:YAG] laser) are the current mainstays of ablative facial resurfacing. During an ablative facial resurfacing process, the epidermis is denuded to a certain depth by the direct physical, chemical, or thermal injury applied to the skin.
The ablative cutaneous injury induces a healing response, resulting in the deposition of a new skin matrix with improved characteristics. During this so-called healing process, skin rejuvenation occurs by a proliferation of fibroblast activity, the action of inflammatory mediators, and a deposition of new collagen and other dermal matrix proteins.

3LAB Review

3LAB Review

The 3LAB products were developed by two chemists and a dermatologist in three different laboratories. The result is a skin care line that claims to treat facial wrinkles by filling in fine lines with Promatryx and Hydranox complexes. Skin brighteners have been included that will reduce an uneven skin tone and effectively diminish discoloration. The products also promise to put elasticity and collagen back into the user’s skin, leaving it looking more radiant. It’s a pretty tall order for any product to successfully complete, which may in part explain the high price tag on the entire anti-aging line. Every product by 3LAB claims to have been created with the highest quality of ingredients and the manufacturers claim to test all products three times to ensure that they can deliver what is promised.
