Olive Oil

Olive oil is Emollient plant oil similar to all nonfragrant plant oils. The concept of olive oil having anti-aging properties stems from some evidence that diets high in olive oil may help prevent heart disease. There are also a small number of animal tests showing that topically applied olive oil can protect against UVB damage. It does seem that olive oil is a good antioxidant and assuredly it’s a good moisturizing ingredient, but research shows similar results for other oils as well.

Olive Oil, Extra Virgin is Highly nutritive and stable, extra virgin olive oil contains protein, minerals and vitamins. It has superior penetrating power. It has acidic and antioxidant values. Olive oil is high in unsaponifiables, which is a large group of compounds called plant steroids or sterolins. They soften the skin, have superior moisturizing effect on the upper layer of the skin and reduce scars.

People in the Mediterranean region have considered olive oil sacred for thousands of years. In Greek mythology, the goddess Athena is said to have conveyed this wonderful plant to the people. Rich in Vitamins A, D, E and K, plus antioxidants like flavonoids and polyphenols, olive oil is an effective component in neutralizing the free radicals that damage healthy skin and contribute to aging. Olive oil also helps the skin regulate it’s natural moisturizing systems. Because of it’s unique ability to mix with water, it penetrates deeper into the skin, helping it to hold moisture without clogging the pores.
